MODELS & METHODOLOGIES

NABS2M&M.png

Models & Methodologies presented and explored in Workgroups aim to:

  • Grow bison populations, genetic diversity, and lands with capacity for bison use and tolerance.

  • Restore grasslands for wildlife, livestock, improved forage production/availability, and rural prosperity.

  • Mitigate risks from animal diseases, invasive plant species, and drought, flooding and fire.

  • Strengthen Tribal buffalo programs that regenerate land, culture, community well-being, and economic sustainability.

  • Preserve North America’s family ranching and recreational lifestyle in the face of rapid development.

  • Identify new technologies for monitoring animal movements, security, and landscape carrying capacity. Elevate the understanding and visibility of bison, family ranches, Tribal/First Nation culture, and Western heritage through marketing, film, photography, art, music, and education
