Summit Structure
Workgroups
Themed and inclusive of cross-sectoral participation, onsite 1.5-hour Workgroups (WGs) are set up for the delivery of three 15-minute Model & Methodology (M&M) presentations, then equal time is provided for vibrant, facilitated interaction aimed at identifying customizable best practices, solving common problems, and supporting opportunities for replicability, resources, and partnering. Workgroup Dialogists tackle challenge questions that the NABS2 Program Committee has prepared. Summit registrants receive the e-Workbook for use in the Workgroups and can self-select into WGs through the Whova app.




Panel Dialogues
Concluding each day, the whole-group Panel Dialogues feature experts onWorkgroup themes who share findings and lead the setting of goals for “more bison on more land” while respecting Tribal sovereignty, restoring grasslands, and preserving family ranches.

Historic accounts from museums, academia, documentaries, and entertainment that reveal the wildlife demise and associated Tribal/FirstNations impacts during the 1800s and beyond.

Film, photography, art and music enrich the NABS program to inspire and elevate the understanding and visibility of bison, family ranches,Tribal/First Nations culture, and Western heritage.

Report out on activities in 2026, the 10th anniversary of the U.S. National Bison Legacy Act naming bison the National Mammal.

Space for exhibitors and vendors with products and services that tie to NABS themes and includes special access for artisans.

Showcase opportunities for photographers, filmmakers, artists and musicians.

Post-Summit Field Trip
On the day following the Summit, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting a field trip to view its Bison Herd and associate Plains wildlife.
